No. 1 Blue Devils Overwhelm No. 6 Bergen Catholic, 104-66
The first real test for the No. 1 Westfield High School (WHS) boys swim team came in a meet with the No. 6 Bergen Catholic Crusaders and the Blue Devils passed in flying colors at Wallace Pool in Westfield on January 6. The 5-0 Blue Devil boys captured first in six of the eight individual events, won all three relays, swept the 100-freestyle that was led by senior Owen Waibel, who broke the WHS record, and emerged with a 104-66 triumph.
