Scarcity in sinking free throws on the part of the home team and an abundance of hitting the 3-pointers on the part of the visitors led to a disappointing conclusion for the hosting Westfield High School Girls basketball team in its showdown with the New Providence Pioneers on January 4. The 6-1 Pioneers pumped in 10 3pointers and sank all six of their free throws, while the 6-1 Blue Devils sank a dismal three of 12 free throws, resulting in a 58-44 defeat.
