Christopher P. Masciale

Christopher P. Masciale, 58,
Beloved Husband, Father, Son and Brother

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Christopher Paul Masciale, beloved husband, father, son and brother, on Friday, December 27, 2024. Chris was 58 years old when he passed at his home in Westfield. Raised in Scotch Plains, he is the son of Michael and Lucille Masciale.

Chris attended Saint Joseph High School in Metuchen before receiving his bachelor’s degree from Norwich University in 1988 in Computer Science Engineering. He went on to receive his MBA from Seton Hall University in 1996. Chris spent his career on Wall Street, working for ICAP (Garban), the American Stock Exchange, Convergex, Cowen, and most recently TD Bank, where he was Director of Market Data Operations. He also served on the Westfield Board of Adjustment for 20 years, retiring as Chairman in 2023.

Chris was an avid hobbyist, passionate about slot car racing, model trains, gardening, camping, boating, reading and technology. He ran cross-country during his time at Norwich and played many other sports throughout his life, including hockey, soccer and skiing. He coached many of his children’s sports teams within Westfield.

Chris was a devoted husband; he exemplified the true meaning of partnership. Together, he and Karen shared 32 years of marriage filled with laughter and a deep love that defined their journey. He was a loving father and role model whose proudest accomplishment was his children. Chris was the family’s rock and greatest supporter.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Karen; his loving children, Michael and Cassandra and her husband, Max Schlesinger; his adoring parents, Michael and Lucille; his brothers, John and Barry; and his many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Friends may visit the family today, Thursday, January 2, from 4 to 8 p.m., at Dooley Colonial Home in Westfield. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, January 3, at 10 a.m., at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Westfield, with burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery in Westfield.
