Clark Mayor and Council Thank Voters For Wins

CLARK — During Wednesday night’s Clark Township Council workshop meeting, Mayor Sal Bonaccorso and council members thanked the Clark voters for the reelection on November 5 of the mayor, Councilwoman AngelAlbanese, Councilman William Smith and Councilman James Minniti.

“I’d like to thank the voters of Clark for returning us all back, and it was an outstanding win; I’m very proud of that,” said Mayor Bonaccorso. “I’d also like to thank the running mates and the council members who worked so hard to keep this town moving forward over the next four years.”

Councilman Steven Hund offered his congratulations during the mayor’s and council members’ comments on their victory.

“It was a well-deserved congratulations, and I’m looking forward to another four years working with you,” he said.

Councilman Patrick O’Connor congratulated his fellow governing body members and Mayor Bonaccorso on their wins.

“The town spoke, and they chose to continue with this organization,” he said. “You fought a hard battle, and you won by a nice margin. Congratulations.”

Councilman Smith and Councilman Minniti thanked the Clark voters and their teams for helping them with their campaigns and re-elections. Councilman Brian Toal congratulated the mayor and council members and also expressed gratitude to the residents he spoke to at an election-night gathering for having shared their thoughts — both positive and negative — regarding the direction Clark should go moving forward.

“I heard a lot of good things and a lot of negatives. But you know what? The negatives can be worked on and resolved. It wasn’t anything Earthshattering,” he said. “The positives were all great, and that’s because of the efforts of this mayor and this council, and that’s why you saw those results and those feelings in the balance of returns.”

Councilman Toal also noted that the mayor and council will make history in January as the first mayor and council in the township’s history to be in office for 24 years. “Who’s even close to you in terms of history?” he asked.

Councilwoman Albanese took the time to close by thanking Clark voters and congratulating Mayor Bonaccorso and her fellow council members.

“I’d like to congratulate the mayor in particular for all your hard work over all these years, and the citizens came through,” she said. “Congratulations to Jim Minniti and Bill Smith, and thank you to all the councilmen, working as a team as always. I appreciated all the support, and of course, thank you to the citizens of Clark for the overwhelming win.”
