Cougars Jolt Summit, 27-22, In North 2, Group 3 Quarters
All the rabbit tricks were pulled out of the hats early by both teams when the fourth-seeded Cranford High School football Cougars hosted the fifth-seeded Summit Hilltoppers in the quarterfinal round of the North Jersey, Section 2, Group 3 playoffs at Memorial Field in Cranford on November 1. The Cougars were able to pull out one more rabbit late in the fourth quarter and the defense managed to cover the Hilltoppers’ final hat trick with 13.8 seconds remaining to secure a 27-22 triumph.
