The second-seeded No. 16-ranked Governor Livingston Highlanders girls volleyball team went two hard games with the third-seeded Westfield Blue Devils and prevailed, 26-24, 25-20, in the semifinal round of the Union County Tournament at AL Johnson High School in Clark on October 22. The 17-4 Highlanders would face the top-seeded Union Catholic Vikings for the crown on October 27.

During the regular season, the Highlanders and the Blue Devils split. On September 23, the Highlanders defeated the Blue Devils 25-18, 25-11. On October 10, the Blue Devils got the best of the Highlanders, 25-23, 25-23.
This time junior outside hitter Ava Gaspard recorded nine kills, nine digs and five services for the 14-9 Blue Devils. Junior Emilia Dengler dished out 19 assists and added nine digs and four services with an ace. Junior Vicki Morey notched six kills and added six digs, an assist and a service. Senior Catie Carayannopoulos finished with five kills, a block, two digs and two services. Senior Keira Deignan had two kills and a block. Sabrina Muller had a block, dig and an assist. Junior Audrey Stack recorded five digs and five services with an ace. Audrey Hu had six services with two aces, four digs and three assists. Maddy Coen had three kills, a block and a dig.
Highlander Anna Kramarchuk finished with 22 assists, a dig and three services with an ace. Abby Kim notched 15 kills, three digs, an assist and six services with two aces. Eva Sottosanti recorded five kills, four digs, an assist and three services. Gia Naik had 15 digs, an assist and four services. Julie Rinaldi had 11 services and five digs. Kate Pipher had five services with an ace. Briana Garro had three kills and two blocks. Nia Joseph notched three kills.
