Getting a home game in the playoffs was on definitely on the Cranford Cougars’ minds but first, they had to get past the Colonia Patriots in a football showdown at Memorial Field in Cranford on October 18. The contest had some big ups and downs but when all seemed to be lost, the Cougars staged a late 11-play scoring drive, which included four drive-saving catches and a one-yard Philadelphia Eagles style quarterback sneak to emerge with an 18-13 victory.
