Blue Devils Down No. 11 Monroe; New Providence Pioneers in UCT
The Westfield High School girls soccer team elevated itself from No. 15 to No. 11 after downing the then No. 11 Monroe Falcons, 4-0, in Monroe on October 14. After a 1-0 lead at the half, the 10-1 Blue Devils easily found the mark in the second half to settle the 10-2-1 Falcons. On October 17, the top-seeded Blue Devils shut out the ninth-seeded New Providence Pioneers, 5-0, in the quarterfinal round of the Union County Tournament at Gary Kehler Stadium. Previously, the Pioneers defeated the eight-seeded Brearley Bears, 3-1.
