The most frequent question we’ve received in recent weeks is: Why are we running? Why endure the personal attacks and negativity circulating on social media? The answer is simple: we are committed to our school district, the families within it, and our community. We believe all children deserve the best opportunities for a quality education and the chance to thrive. We also believe that parents deserve a voice, but unfortunately, the current leadership, specifically our opponent the Board of Education president, does not share this belief. Speaking up results in vilification, attempting to address the board during meetings often leads to being abruptly being cut off. Free speech is no longer a reality for us as parents even when it comes to our children.
