Summit Hilltopper Girls Nip Cranford Soccer Cougars, 1-0
Holding up against the returning Union County Tournament champions was an enormous task for the Cranford High School girls soccer Cougars when they hosted the Summit Hilltoppers at Memorial Field in Cranford on October 1. Constant shelling from the Hilltoppers, especially in the first half, yielded only one goal due to a stubborn defensive effort by the Cougars and some outstanding saves from junior goalkeeper Vanessa Kelly.
