The Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School gymnastics team after falling behind slightly in the first event, gradually worked its way past the Cranford Cougars in the next three events to emerge with a 106.175102.5 victory in Scotch Plains on September 18. The 3-0 Raiders previously had beaten Summit, 107.55104.3, and South Plainfield, 105.175102.725, while the Cougars lost to Westfield, 105.2-102.5.
