Time to put it all on the line came early in the season when the No. 16 Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School boys soccer team hosted the No. 10 ranked Montclair Bulldogs in Scotch Plains on September 9. The Raiders’ defense was put to the test from the start but persevered to pull out a 3-2 overtime victory thanks to the gamewinning goal by freshman Anastasio Pavlov. Three days later on September 12, the Raiders, now ranked No. 11 had a little bit easier time with the hosting Rahway Indians and pulled out to a 1-0 victory.
