F-SP residents are being asked to vote on a $115 million bond referendum for the Board of Education. We are asked to pay $81 million for the old LaGrande school which officials sold for a 'song' in the 1970's. Officials also sold the Shackamaxon school about the same time for an unreasonably low cost. Those decisions did not lower our taxes. Land is precious and those schools could have been rented/leased out. F-SP is desirable. Developers have added excessive housing and had no obligation to see what impact those developments have had to our schools. Where were our town officials when all these developments were approved? Why burden taxpayers with continued property tax increases, especially some seniors with fixed income that have difficulty making ends meet?
