Lucille Gerardiello
Obituaries
September 12, 2024
Lucille Gerardiello

Lucille Gerardiello, 96, Known For Love, Strength, Indomitable Spirit

Lucille Gerardiello, 96, affectionately known as “Nanna Loo,” passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 24, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of strength, love, and resilience. Born on December 15, 1927, to a poor Italian immigrant family in Jersey City, N.J., Lucille’s life was a testament to her indomitable spirit and unwavering dedication to her family.

Lucille was a woman of great attitude and determination. She worked as a bookkeeper, a profession she excelled in with precision and dedication. Her sharp mind and strong will were evident in every aspect of her life.

She would simultaneously brag about being among the first adopters of computers for business use, while also being vehemently opposed to having them in her home.

She was the proud mother of one child, Glenn, whom she loved fiercely. Lucille’s protective nature was legendary, once even standing up to a bully to defend her son. This act of bravery was just one example of her unwavering commitment to those she loved.

“Nanna Loo” was more than just a name; it was a symbol of her nurturing and loving nature. She was a beacon of strength and warmth for her family and friends, always ready with a kind word or a helping hand.

Lucille’s life was a remarkable journey from humble beginnings to a life filled with love and laughter. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew her, and her legacy of strength and love will continue to inspire future generations.

Rest in peace, Nanna Loo. You will be deeply missed and forever cherished.

Lucille was the beloved wife of the late Rocco J. Gerardiello, and devoted mother of the late Glenn Nardone. She is survived by her two grandsons, Brent and Troy Nardone.

Lucille’s visitation will begin at 10 a.m. on Monday, September 16, 2024, at Gray Funeral Home, 318 East Broad Street, Westfield. Her Graveside Service will follow at 11:30 a.m. on Monday in Fairview Cemetery in Westfield. Please go to www.grayfuneralhomes.com to offer condolences.
