St. Justin Stuns St. Anthony With Masterful Pitching, 8-3
Playoff time was only a few days away and the men of St. Justin wanted to send soon to be top-seeded St. Anthony a serious message in the final regular-season game for both squads at Forest Road Park in Fanwood on August 12. With the score tied 3-3 entering the bottom of the fourth inning, St. Justin brought in relief pitcher Pete Chemidlin, who held the Anthony machine scoreless the rest of the way and permitted just one single, while his offense tacked on a two-run double by Colum Keough and a threerun home run from Andrew Smyth en route to an 8-3 triumph.
