AREA — After more than a decade of promises and delays, New Jersey’s Gateway rail tunnel is finally fully funded thanks to a $6.8-billion federal grant that was approved on-site early last week. And while it may be at least another 10 years before commuters see any type of tangible benefits, local leaders say things are moving in the right direction.
