The Tuttle Parkway Bridge represented the application of an important technology and was significant as one of the few surviving truss bridges associated with the former Central Railroad of New Jersey's main line. The bridge was a typical example of a steel Warren through truss highway bridge with verticals and was notable for its use as a railroad crossing. A Bridge To The Past
These are my comments to follow up on the story about orphan bridges, which appeared in your issue of November 2, 2023. That story pertained to the Central Avenue orphan bridge over the former Lehigh Valley Railroad. Another orphan bridge was the Tuttle Parkway bridge over the NJ Transit Raritan Valley Line.
