The fifth-seeded Cranford Cougars softball team plated nine runs in the second inning en route to a 14-0 triumph over the 12th-seeded Rahway Indians in the first round of the North Jersey, Section 2, Group 3 playoffs in Cranford on May 22. Sophia DeMarco whacked her 14th home run of the season and went 3-for-3 with four RBI.

Sophia Alvarez-Gomez doubled, scored twice and had four RBI. Maddy DeLongwalkedtwiceandscoredtwice. Grace Ingraham scored three times. Sarah Hartmann went 2-for-2 with a double, three RBI and two runs scored. Ciara Conley singled and scored. Ava Orr singled, scored once and had two RBI. Alexa Stulpin went 1-for-1.
