Call for Entries: NJ Photography Forum

AREA – International and US-based photographers are invited now to submit photographs to be considered for exhibition in the 30th annual Juried Photography Exhibit produced by the New Jersey Photography Forum at the Watchung Arts Center in Watchung. This Call for Entry is for the exhibit that willrunfromNovember1,2024through December 9, 2024. The chosen images will also be shown in a virtual exhibit featuredontheNJPhotographyForum’s websitefromNovember1throughJanuary 15, 2025. The prospectus for the show is available at www.njphotoforum.com. Submissions for the exhibit will be accepted from June 1 through July 19, 2024.

The cost for entry is $30 for the first two photographs entered and $10 for each additional photo. There is no limit to the number of entries. There will be cash awards for Excellence and Merit as determined by the juror scores.

All of the images will be for sale with a portion of the proceeds going to support the Watchung Arts Center.

The jurors for the show are: Arik Gorban: photographer, writer, and international instructor who focuses on the creative aspects of photographic art. He has extensive experience in analog, darkroom, and digital imaging, and is a frequent exhibit judge; Ed Kashi: renowned photojournalist and documentary filmmaker has been published globally and recognized for his compassionate rendering of the human condition; Nancy Ori: exhibitor, curator, author, photographer, educator, and director of NJ Photography Forum, is owner of NJ Media Center in Berkeley Heights, NJ.

For 30 years, this exhibition curated by Nancy Ori, has been one of the most important juried photography shows in the Metropolitan area. The New Jersey Photography Forum is the largest and most recognized group of fine art photographers in the state, mounting as many as a dozen exhibits annually. Their monthly meetings alternate between Zoom and in-person sessions at the Visual Arts Center of New Jersey in Summit.At the monthly meetings, attendees are encouraged to share expertise and advance their skills and are provided access to a wide variety of current creative and technical information through informal presentations. During the meetings, photographers have an opportunity to display their work for critique by the membership. Exhibition possibilities within the fine art community are constantly explored and offer invaluable opportunities as a resource for photographers interested in becoming exhibitors and for galleries who are seeking to produce professional exhibits with Forum imagery.
