Swan Hotel 20, Linwood II 10 The game was highlighted by clutch hitting and some nifty defensive plays by both squads. The Linwood bats went silent after leading 8-4 in the fourth. For Swan – Tom Ulichny and Bernie Maguire (3 hits each), James Nardello and Nick Mennona (each long HRs). Pitcher Doug Fischer got and Jimmy Jiminez got the call to slam the door in the 7th. Linwood Juan Moreno (3-for-3), Bill Buteau and Willie Shumate (HRs).

Deegan Roofing 11, Linwood Boys 9 Roofers – Lou Balestriere (3-for-3); Rob Hawk, Don Miller, Tom Donnelly, John Rachko, Rob Stratton, Tom Straniero and Bruce Evans (all had 2 hits).

NJ Governmental 7, Kenilworth VFW 5 Tied at 4-4, NJ GOVT scored 2 in the 6th and held. Carl Herman (solid pitching) and all-around solid defense were the key reasons. NJ Govt – Steve Falco, Joe Hrubash, Rich Conklin, Bill Moore, and Anthony Abbaleo (2 hits each). For the Vets, Danny Mendoza (3-for-3, 3b, 2b); Don Montefusco, Rory Caldwell and Jose Santana (2 hits apiece).

AJ Jersey 16 Awnings Galore 14 Tied 13-13 after seven innings, AJ Jersey plated 3 runs in the 8th, highlighted by Mike Rosenberg’s twoout, pinch-hit double which drove in the go ahead runs. AJ offense – Dave Eckert (4/4 HR, 3 RBI), Steve Wiczerzak (3/4, 2 dbls, 3 RBI), Brian Clark (3/4, 2 RBI); Larry Stewart, Jeff Hoffman, David Ciarrocca, Greg Hobson and Paul Scheuermann (2 hits apiece). Awnings – Rich Traub (3-4, HR), Richie Polonitza (4-4, 2B), Bruce Crawford (3-4, 2B); Paul Newton (2B), Tommy Pasko (2B), Jerry Isolda (3B), Mike Carnevale and Dave Kirsch (2 hits each).
