The Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School boys lacrosse team evened its record to 8-8 with a 9-6 triumph over the 7-7 Madison Dodgers on May 13 but on May 18 a trip to Glen Rock resulted in an 8-7, overtime setback.
Colin McAuliffe netted three goals and two assists against Madison. Nick Homer nailed a hat trick (3 goals) and Aidan Fairweather scored a goal and added an assist and two ground balls. Jack Wall and Colin Kochanowicz each scored once. Vance Slack had an assist. Ryan Mauer won 11 of 18 face-offs and scooped seven ground balls. Louis Kelly scooped four ground balls. Goalkeeper Joe Marranca recorded seven saves.
Justin Goldberg finished with three goals and a ground ball for the Dodgers. James Fox had a goal and an assist. Andrew Boyd scored once and added three ground balls. Matt Spagnoletti scored once and Joaquin Soler had two assists and a ground ball. Cal Regan had three ground balls and goalkeeper Aiden Manning made six saves.
Homer notched a hat trick (3 goals) against Glen Rock. McAuliffe and Ben Filler each scored once. Asher Silva had a goal and a ground ball. Kochanowicz hade a goal, two assists and two ground balls. Mauer won 1620 face-offs and scooped 11 ground balls. Wall had four assists, and four ground balls. Marranca recorded seven saves.
Cooper Consoli had three goals for Glen Rock. Will Corey had two goals and an assist. Parker Dupuis scored twice and Mike Flaccavento scored once. Josh Kim had three assists and keeper Brennan Visokey recorded 24 saves.
