The Cranford High School boys tennis team won both doubles matches and third singles to nip the 8-4 Scotch Plains-Fanwood Raiders, 3-2, on May 14. Three days later, with the lineups being shuffled, the 9-5 Raiders came back to defeat the 8-7 Cougars, 5-0.
In the first meeting, Raiders Anand Sahasrabudhe stopped Art Volles, 60, retired at first singles and Ed Li beat Dylan Intwala, 6-4, 5-7, 10-4 at second singles. Cougar Tobias Tullo topped Brad Feltingoff, 6-0, 6-0, at third singles. Aidan Zagarola and Drew Scheusterman topped Dylan Fountain and Nate Leversee, 6-4, 64, at first doubles. Matt Goldate and Colin Chen beat Ethan Diamond and Justin Brace, 6-4, 6-2, at second doubles.
In the second meeting, Sahasrabudhe beat Tullo, 6-0, 6-0, at first singles. Li stopped Zagarola, 6-3, 6-1, at second singles and Julian Meinke topped Scheusterman, 6-3, 1-6, 10-7, at third singles. At first doubles, Fountain and Leversee stopped Goldate and Chen, 6-2, 6-3. Diamond and Brace defeated Colin Servinsky and Adam Zaidel, 62, 5-7, 10-4.
