Claire Muriel (Ahl) Schierle, born on August 9, 1932 in Perth Amboy, N.J., to Peter and Edith Ahl, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, May 10, 2024, at the age of 91.
Mrs. Schierle has been a resident of Westfield, N.J., since she was nine years old and a lifelong member of the Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church in Westfield. She graduated from Holy Trinity High School in 1950 before embarking on a career in banking and starting her family.
Dearest to her heart were spending time with her family, annual summer trips to Long Beach Island, and being an active member of the church community.
Mrs. Schierle was predeceased by her sister, Doris M. Rutledge of Clark, N.J.; her daughter, Susan G.

Billson of Westfield; her first husband, Howard R. Billson of Westfield, and her husband Robert F. Schierle of Westfield. Mrs. Schierle is survived by her son Robert E. Billson of Westfield; her daughters, Teresa A. Brooks of Greensboro, Md. and Karen M. Billson of Roselle Park, N.J., and her son Peter W. Billson of Lambertville, N.J.; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and a large extended family.
Visitation was held at Dooley Colonial Home in Westfield on Friday, May 17, 2024, prior to services at Holy Trinity and interment at Saint Gertrude Cemetery in Colonia, N.J.
Claire will be deeply missed by her family, who thank everyone for their expressions of caring and support.
