The second-seeded Summit Hilltoppers boys lacrosse team took an early lead but had to hold on until the end to nip the top-seeded Westfield Blue Devils, 6-5, for the Union County Tournament Championship held at AL Johnson High School in Clark on May 11.

Colin Coyle and Cody Lam each netteda goal and an assist for the 9-4 Blue Devils, while Mike Marshall, Billy Gerne and Garrett Ferguson each scored once. Josh Caramagno won eight of 14 face-offs and Steve Csorba scooped four ground balls.

Jim Gainger scored twice for the 12-2 Hilltoppers and Dan Flaim finished with a goal, three assists and two ground balls. Sean McCeney, Will Iacovelli and Quinn Hynes each scored once.
