The fifth-seeded Cranford Cougars baseball team shut out the Oratory Rams, 14-0, in the quarterfinal round of the Union County Tournament in four and one-half innings on May 8. Winning pitcher Dylan Falk tossed a one-hitter in four innings and reliever Mike Zalinkanskas finished the job.

The big hitters for the 11-7 Cougars were Falk with two hits, an RBI, run scored and a stolen base. Mike Tripodi went 2-for-2, walked, had two RBI and scored three runs. Sean Riley doubled, singled, scored twice, stole two bases and had three RBI.
