AREA–AmateurAstronomers, Inc. (AAI), the North Jersey Astronomical Group (NJAG), and Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School will sponsor Astronomy Day entitled 'The Science of Star Wars' at Trailside Nature and Science Center in Mountainside NJ 07092 from 12-4 pm and at William Miller Sperry Observatory on the campus of Union College in Cranford NJ 07016 from 7:30 pm to 10:30pm. Both sessions are free to the public with free parking. All you need is a curiosity about the Universe to enter. Children will enjoy hands-on Astronomy activities in the afternoon at Trailside Nature and Science Center. Adults and children will enjoy the night activities at Sperry Observatory. All are welcome to come and enjoy learning about our amazing world. Special topics will include the Exoplanets, Robots, and Star Wars: Fact or Fiction. Also included in the afternoon will be robotics demonstrations, meteorites and geology information, and fun and easy to understand science demonstrations. No preregistration necessary. Both programs are rain or shine.
