Thursday, February 29, Walter Sobanski, 60, of Elizabeth was arrested and charged with shoplifting merchandise, worth $52.95, from the Target store located at 45 Central Avenue. Sobanski was transported to Clark Police Department Headquarters and processed accordingly. He was released pending a court date.

Friday, March 1, police took a report of a simple assault to an employee of Panera Bread. This incident is under investigation.

Saturday, March 2, Darrell Hearns, 45, of Irvington was arrested in the vicinity of Westfield Avenue on multiple outstanding warrants out of Irvington and Hillside. Hearns was processed accordingly and released pending a court date.

Saturday, March 2, police took a report of an attempted burglary to a residence on East Lane. This incident is under investigation.

Sunday, March 3, Raynard Brown, 41, of Rahway was arrested in the vicinity of Central Avenue on an outstanding warrant out of Hillside, in the amount of $500. Brown was processed accordingly and released pending a court date.

Monday, March 4, police took a report of an attempted burglary to a motor vehicle parked in the vicinity of Mountainview Road. This incident is under investigation.

Monday, March 4, police took a report of criminal mischief to a motor vehicle that was parked in the vicinity of Madison Hill Road. This incident is under investigation.

Tuesday, March 5, Vivian Blanco, 44, of Jersey City was arrested and charged with shoplifting merchandise, valued at $144.60, from the Target store located at 45 Central Avenue. Blanco was transported to Clark Police Department Headquarters, processed accordingly and released pending a court date.

Wednesday, March 6, police took a report of fraud from a resident. This incident is under investigation.

Wednesday, March 6, Carlos Encarnacioncueto, 40, of Roselle was arrested on an outstanding warrant out of Roselle Park, in the amount of $750. Encarnacioncueto was transported to Clark Police Department Headquarters, processed accordingly and released to the Roselle Park Police Department.

Friday, March 8, Anne Arena, 45, of Westfield was arrested and charged with shoplifting merchandise, valued at $96.73, from the Target store located at 45 Central Avenue. Arena was transported to Clark Police Department Headquarters, processed accordingly and released pending a court date.

Friday, March 8, police took a report of fraud from a resident. The incident in under investigation.

Sunday, March 10, police took a report of an attempted burglary to an unsecured motor vehicle parked in the vicinity of Raritan Road. This incident is under investigation.

Thursday, March 7, a resident of Terrill Road reported that he was contacted by an insurance company which advised him that there has been an insurance claim opened against his small trucking business. The resident stated that an unknown individual obtained his company’s motor carrier number from his vehicle and scheduled a shipment of goods without his consent. The incident was documented by patrol officers.

Friday, March 8, a resident of 2nd Street reported that several fraudulent charges were made on his bank account without his consent. The incident was documented by patrol officers.

Saturday, March 9, patrol officers responded to a residence on Watson Road for a report of a burglary to an unlocked motor vehicle. The resident reported that a small bag was stolen from her vehicle, but that it was of no value. The incident was documented by patrol officers.

Sunday, March 10, patrol officers responded to a residence on Terrill Road for a report of a burglary to an unlocked motor vehicle. Upon their arrival, the resident reported that approximately $10 in United States currency had been stolen from the vehicle. The incident was documented by patrol officers.

SCOTCH PLAINS

Monday, February 26, a resident of Lake Avenue reported falling victim to IRS tax fraud. Someone used her information to file false tax returns. This matter is under investigation.

Tuesday, February 27, a resident of the 300 block of Cook Avenue reported an attempted burglary at their home. At 3 a.m., officers responded to reports of three individuals attempting to gain entry to the rear of the residence. The suspects were startled off prior to officers arriving on the scene. The motor vehicle involved had been stolen from Cliffside Park earlier in the evening. This matter is under investigation.

Wednesday, February 28, a resident of ForepaughAvenue had several items stolen from her unlocked motor vehicle overnight.

Wednesday, February 28, police attempted to stop a Porsche SUV that had been reported stolen out of Plainfield an hour earlier in the day. Due to unsafe operations of the suspect vehicle, the pursuit was terminated on Park Avenue.

Thursday, February 29, a resident of King Street reported falling victim to fraud. The victim received a call from an unknown person claiming to be a border patrol agent, who stated that the victim was facing drug-smuggling charges. The victim paid a large amount of money deposited into a Bitcoin machine. This matter is under investigation.

Thursday, February 29, a resident of Wright Street reported that his new credit card was stolen in the mail. The card was used out of state. This matter is under investigation.

Saturday, March 2, Cheyanne Villablanca, 25, of New York City turned herself in at police headquarters for an open traffic warrant. She posted bail and was released.
