Senior Spotlight

Lifelong Westfield and The Westfield Leader are excited to spotlight a Westfield senior on a regular basis to showcase some amazing residents who have lived decades or longer in town. The first senior spotlight is Bob Lewis.

Bob, who will turn 96 in August, has lived in Westfield for 46 years on Clifton Street. He moved to Westfield to get closer to work. Prior to his retirement, Bob was an R&D machinist and Machine Shop Supervisor. Bob is most well-known for serving as a Crossing Guard and now lunchroom aide at Washington School for over 30 years!

Bob is also well known for his kindergarten apples. He began carving apples for students he crossed while serving as a Crossing Guard and has carved hundreds of apples since.

Bob still loves the arts, including carving wood, calligraphy, oil painting, stained glass and making mechanical toys from wood and metal. His advice to young people in town: “Take advantage of the great education available in Westfield”.
