WESTFIELD — Jewish Family Service of Central New Jersey’s (JFSCNJ) Lavy House Live Series will present “Volunteer Opportunities for All Ages at JFSCNJ” on Wednesday, February 21, at 11 a.m. This event will take place at the Lavy House, located at 748 East Broad Street, Westfield.
The program will highlight the wide variety of volunteer opportunities available at JFSCNJ for people of all ages. These include meaningful ways to celebrate a Bar/ Bat Mitzvah, programs for tutoring children or adult literacy, working at the JFSCNJ Food Pantry or Urban Garden in Elizabeth, the social day program in Scotch Plains for those with memory loss, or becoming a “Friendly Visitor” to help an older adult, Holocaust survivor, or if wishing to organize a project to benefit members of the community. The JFSCNJ is happy to work with a person’s particular interests, time commitment and availability.
Danielle McLeer, director of outreach and volunteers; Kathleen Fernandez, Food Pantry coordinator, and Evely Colon-Coleman, garden coordinator, will each present about their respective programs and offerings.
The program is funded by the Lavy House and the Standish Foundation. Light refreshments will be served (kashruth observed). Ample parking is available in the parking lot of Temple Emanu-El, located at 756 East Broad Street, Westfield.
