CRANFORD — New development opportunities are coming online in Cranford now that the township has managed to satisfy most of its existing affordable-housing obligations with the state. On Tuesday, during a regular meeting of the township committee, local officials announced plans to re-zone a section of South Avenue to allow retail storefronts similar to those found in the Downtown Business Zone to be built along the corridor without having to negotiate more residential considerations.
