The outcome of the election for the Ward Four Council seat was the result of a lot of hard work over the past seven months. Getting our message out to voters required dedication and discipline from our campaign volunteers. I want to thank them, first and foremost, as I would not have been elected to the Council without their commitment to our cause.
The outcome of the election for the Ward Four Council seat was the result of a lot of hard work over the past seven months. Getting our message out to voters required dedication and discipline from our campaign volunteers. I want to thank them, first and foremost, as I would not have been elected to the Council without their commitment to our cause.
I also want to thank the residents of the ward who took the time to speak with me when I came knocking on their doors. These residents resisted the natural urge to ignore a politician in a green T-shirt while their children were crying and their dogs were barking and took the time to listen and, more importantly, share with me their views and concerns. You made me a better candidate and your input will help me be a more effective representative. Thank you for being openminded and forthcoming.
I want to extend my gratitude to Scott Katz who has served our ward for the past four years. Public service is not easy (as I’m sure I’m about to find out) and Scott deserves credit for giving his time to the Council. I hope he will share with me his views on issues as they arise over my term because I value his insight and perspective.
Finally, I just want to add that I look forward to transitioning our campaign into a framework for effective and proactive representation of Ward Four’s residents. To do that, I will work with my fellow council members and our Mayor to find common ground and move our town in the best direction possible.
