SCOTCH PLAINS — Inspired by the Silent Book Club, a global community of people who enjoy reading in quiet camaraderie, the Scotch Plains Public Library will host a Silent Book Club event on Monday, November 20.

Participants are invited to bring a book of their choice and join fellow readers in the downstairs meeting room of the library for an hour of quiet reading, starting at 7 p.m. There will be an opportunity for optional chatting from 6:30 to 7 p.m. and from 8 to 8:30 p.m.

Those who are not sure what to read may bring their library card and will receive help finding something to their liking.

Anyone under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult. Registration is recommended.
