Despite repeated expressions of concern by Cranford residents, Westfield went ahead with approving the development of Williams Nursery with a 162-unit housing development adjacent to Lenape Park. Concerns were expressed that the engineering firm used out-ofdate measurements of rainfall and rather than assuring residents downstream that the project could be done safely, the Westfield Planning Board approved the application anyway.
