After a scoreless first half, the Cranford High School boys soccer team and the AL Johnson Crusaders each scored once in the second half then endured two scoreless overtime periods to come up with a 1-1 deadlock at Memorial Field in Cranford on October 2. On October 5, the seventh- seeded Cougars eliminated the 18-seeded Union Catholic Vikings, 5-1, in the first round of the Union County Tournament and the eighthseeded Crusaders blanked the 17thseeded Roselle Park Panthers, 4-0.
