Library Invites Kids to Decorate Wooden Bats

GARWOOD — The Garwood Public Library has announced a craft project for children in kindergarten through eighth grade entitled “Decorate A Wooden Bat.” From Monday, September 25, through Friday, October 20, youngsters are invited to pick up a wooden bat (the mammals that hang upside down, not the baseball kind) from the library while they last.

Participants are encouraged to use their imagination to decorate their wooden bat for Halloween. They should put their name on the back. Youngsters are then asked to return their bats to the library for display through October 20, after which they can take it home for Halloween. Each participant will receive a goody bag when they return a decorated bat. There will be a prize for the favorite bat.

The Garwood Public Library is located at 411 Third Avenue. For information about all library programs and services, visit garwoodpl.org.
