Deegan Out-Taps Linwood Tap In 50+ A Division Playoff, 18-14

Home runs, spectacular outfield plays and expert umpiring from veteran Union County Softball Hall of Fame inductee Ed Zazzali highlighted the Union County Senior 50+ A Division semifinal Game 1 showdown between top-seeded Deegan Roofing and fourth-seeded Linwood Tap House at Memorial Field 3 in Linden on August 22. After ceding six runs in the top of the first inning, the Deeganator 50+ gang began blasting away with a 26-hit bombardment, which included eight doubles and three fence-clearing home runs to outslug the Tapsters, 18-14.
