Former Downtown Merchant Supports Emily Root for Town Council

As longtime Westfield residents and a former Downtown merchant, we are proud to offer an unqualified endorsement of Emily Root for First Ward town councilperson.

For almost 20 years, Emily has demonstrated her knowledge, skill and success as a licensed professional and business owner. Through personal tragedy and extraordinary challenges related to the Covid 19 pandemic, she has continued to serve her clients and earn respect and professional accolades in the speech pathology community.

Through all this, Emily has been able to balance work, personal life and community commitment, stepping in as Ward 1 councilperson and liaison to the Downtown Westfield Corporation. Beyond her professional and business acumen, Emily embodies the passion, dedication and energy that the position of town councilperson deserves and demands.

She is passionate about talking to business owners downtown to feel their concerns and encourage a vibrant downtown. I know how excited Emily is for upcoming businesses to open this summer and fall and relates deeply to the triumphs and tribulations of opening and running a small business.

For these reasons and more, we are thrilled to have Emily Root represent us as our Ward 1 councilperson and will be enthusiastically supporting her in the election this November.
