There is a factual error in this week’s editorial. The open public comment portion of the public Westfield Town Council meeting is, in fact, at the beginning of the meeting.

In our comparison of municipal meeting agendas, we mistakenly reviewed the conference agenda, where open discussion takes place at the end of the meeting. We regret this error.

We stand by our statements regarding time limitations and other meeting models, which we feel better serve the public interest.
