Make 2022 the Year of Your Finances

January is the time for New Year’s resolutions and to reflect on goals for the upcoming year. Personally, I love this time of year for that reason.

Four years ago, I spearheaded an initiative to inspire the financial empowerment of women and named the group Women of Clarity TM. I challenged women to take on a greater role in managing their finances and if not already involved, to start. Since then, I have helped many women begin this journey and see the benefits of it. For some, it is more difficult to know where to start and for others, how to monitor progress in meeting their desired goals.

For those of you who haven’t yet started, my message is this: Make 2022 the year that you take that first step. Sit down with your spouse today and begin the discussion. Ask the questions you need to ask. This is often the most difficult part, but it is our responsibility as women to make it happen otherwise life can throw us a curveball when least expected.

As a working mom, I understand the need to share household responsibilities. However, that doesn’t mean fully relinquishing involvement in the family’s financial decisions. I strongly believe that women need to hold on to that responsibility even on a shared basis with your spouse. Your family’s financial well-being is too important for you not to be involved. There are many ways to be engaged in your finances without assuming 100 percent of the responsibility.

At Round Table Wealth Management, we offer support and expertise in this process and will partner with you to get started and remain accountable to yourself. As a Financial Advisor, I have met so many women who regretted not having an active role in their family’s financial decisions. These women had been recently widowed or divorced and were suddenly forced to learn how to do this at the most inopportune time. I have deeply enjoyed helping these women begin this journey and seeing the success they have had.

Our goal is to get more women engaged in finances sooner, and to keep them engaged for the long-term. We want to partner with you so that you can reach your personal financial goals and have the peace of mind that comes with knowing you’re taking the right steps towards financial security. If you would like a review of your investment portfolio or need help in getting answers to all your financial questions, just reach out to me. Make 2022 the Year of Your Finances!
