WATERS ROAR…The stream at Brookside Park in Scotch Plains turns into a raging river and floods the area from the huge storm of Sunday and Monday.

CATCH ME IF YOU CANFred Bercaw, left, president of the Newark Bait and Fly Casting Club, stands alongside Bruce Rooney of Bayonne with two Rainbow trout he caught at Echo Lake Park at the 26th Annual Fishing Derby on Saturday, April 14. The lake was stocked more than 1,222 trout by the club, and more will be replenished by the state.

Government Reform Thoughts

New Jersey citizens are required to follow the letter of the law, i.e. speeding and parking regulations, etc. Shouldn't those who we elect to serve us be required to follow those same regulations? The boyfriend of New Jersey's former attorney general, Hamlet Goore, was allowed to drive his car from the scene despite having a suspended driver's license and driving a uninsured vehicle after former AG Zulima Farmer arrived at the scene of the motor vehicle stop. Police voided the tickets. Now our Governor, Jon Corzine, was seriously injured when the state-trooper car he was in crashed after going 91 mph on the Garden State Parkway. The governor was not wearing a seat belt. - See year-to-date reform thoughts.
