Leaders Blast Bush on Ports Deal, Security Breach Feared

NOT FOR SALE!…Port Elizabeth is busy as usual but citizens, mindful of 9/11 and the war on terror, are in shock that the Bush administration approved a port deal Monday turning operations over to an Arab government-owned company. The political malaise is boiling over as officials of both parties are standing up to a defiant President. Locally, the man on the street has few printable words to say on the matter.

PAY (STATION) TO PLAY…Captain John Morgan, shown above in April 2004, submitted his letter of resignation Tuesday as parking director, with two weeks notice, effective Friday, March 3. Captain Morgan will now become the national sales manager for the Metric Group, the company the town purchased the pay stations from for downtown parking lots.
