EMERGENCY RESPONSE...A helicopter prepares to transport a male patient on December 6 from Gumbert Field in Westfield to University Hospital in Newark. Authorities said the individual, who died the following day, had committed suicide. Per department policy, police did not release the name of the victim or other identifying details in order to protect his family's privacy.
