A MILE IN THEIR SHOES...Participants
in the 25th Relay for Life prepare to walk last Friday in the
annual event at Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School. People walk
for 12 hours – from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. – and walkers receive
pledges for walking a specific number of miles. All money
collected goes the American Cancer Society. Walking as teams,
tents are set up so tired members can rest during the
early-morning hours. As of Wednesday morning, the school
reported that participants raised at least $100,000.
