The Westfield Leader and The Scotch Plains-Fanwood Times newspapers will publish Special Election Editions on Thursday, October 28, 2004. There is considerable local voting interest: a mayoral and council race in Scotch Plains, Redevelopment Referendum in Westfield, election for Congress (7^th District), council races in Fanwood, elections for Union County Freeholders, Surrogate and Sheriff.

The Westfield Leader newspaper will be distributed by U.S. mail to all the homes in Westfield in addition to its normal Mountainside, Union County and out-of-town distribution. A special section regarding the Referendum of the proposed Parking Deck and Redevelopment will be included. Greater than 12,000 copies will be distributed. The advertising rate for this special edition is $15 per col-inch.

The Scotch Plains-Fanwood Times newspaper will be distributed by U.S. mail to all the homes in Scotch Plains and Fanwood in addition to its normal Union County and out-of-town distribution. Approximately 12,000 copies will be distributed. The advertising rate for this special edition is $15 per col-inch.

The advertising rate to be in both editions is $22 per col-inch.

These combined editions will reach a population of in excess of 60,000 with a press run of approximately 25,000.

These newspapers will also be distributed to local stores and posted immediately in color on the Internet at www.goleader.com, which receives substantial traffic (call for details).

To ensure inclusion, advertising commitments must be placed by October 15 and the advertisement must be at the newspaper by October 20, 2004.

Mechanical information: The newspapers are full broadsheet size, with print area measuring 13 inches wide by 21 inches high - divided into six columns; each column is 2 inches wide and separated by 0.2 inches of gutter. The newspaper will be printed in grayscale only.
