Please provide the information and write-up from the funeral home or authority in charge, as it is necessary for the official records. Optional: Color digital pictures by email are preferred although standard photographs are acceptable (which may be picked up immediately after publication). The publishing date for Obituaries and Death Notices will be the soonest Thursday, our publication date, based on receipt of all information by the end of business day of the prior Monday. Obituaries: The format is per newspaper standard. There is a fee of $25.

Death Notices: The content may be per submitters choice. The fee is $36 per standard length of 200 words; there is an additional charge of $12 per 100 words above 200.

Finding Information: The archives of this newspaper since 1997 are available on this site and are searchable. Our archives prior to 1997 are only available by microfilm and hard copy at the Westfield Memorial Library (back to 1904) and at the Scotch Plains Library (back to 1962). To find information from our archives prior to 1997, it is necessary  to go to the libraries and manually look through the records. Alternately, you can contact the Westfield Genealogy Society, the Westfield Historical Society or try other newspapers such as the daily newspaper for the area - the Star Ledger.

Downloading Our Online Archives: If you know the date of publication, go to Archives and download the newspaper for the date you seek. This will provide you with the complete newspaper as printed in pdf format.

Searching Our Online Archives: Keyword search of this site including our newspapers exactly as published back to 1997 is available here; www.goleader.com/search. The Search is not segregated by specific category, it searches the entire archive. Your choice of keyword is critical for finding the information sought. Trial and error plus patience may be required on the user's part.
