MR. AND MRS. DOUGLAS C. PARENT

(She is the former Miss MaryAnn Bekkedahl)

Miss MaryAnn Bekkedahl, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Bekkedahl of Westfield, was married on Saturday, May 16, to Douglas Charles Parent of New York. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Parent of Westborough, Massachusetts.

The Reverend Orlanda Brugnola of the United Universalist Church in Brooklyn performed the afternoon ceremony on the beach at the Surf and Tennis Club in Bridgehampton, New York. A reception was also held at the club.

The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a custom- designed gown of french silk Shantung with embroidery by Birnbaum and Bullock of New York City. She carried a bouquet of lilies of the valley.

Mrs. Barbara Bekkedahl Tanner of Ridgewood, the sister of the bride, served as the matron of honor. The bridal attendants included Mrs. Carolyn Bekkedahl Skrak of New York City and Ms. Alison Bekkedahl of Barcelona, Spain, both sisters of the bride.

The matron of honor and bridal attendants wore silk Shantung dresses by Serafina of New York, and carried bouquets of white sweet peas.

Miss Julia Skrak of New York City and Miss Margo Tanner of Ridgewood, the nieces of the bride, were the flower girls.

Alex Rapp of Dallas, Texas was the best man. The ushers were Michael Deneen of Belmont, Massachusetts; Chris Rice of Boulder, Colorado and Craig McGiffin of Denville. Russell Tanner of Ridgewood was the ring bearer.

The bride graduated from Westfield High School in 1986 and from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor in 1990. She is employed as an

advertising sales manager with Men's Health Magazine in New York.

The bridegroom graduated from Babson College in Wellesley, Massachusetts in 1989, and obtained his Master in Business Administration Degree from Harvard Business School in 1997. He is employed as a senior consultant with Andersen Consulting in New York.

The rehearsal party was held at The Farmhouse in Amagansett, New York. Bridal showers were given by Mrs. William Plant of Westfield and Mrs. Ernest Federici at the Federici home in Westfield, and by Mrs. Kevin Joyce and the mother of the bridegroom in Hopkinton, Massachusetts.

A shower and bachelorette party was hosted by Mrs. Skrak and Mrs. Tanner at Mrs. Skrak's residence.

Following a two- week wedding trip to Hawaii, the couple reside on the Upper East Side in New York City.

Miss Kristen A. Klimas and E. Drake Harvey, 3rd

Mr. and Mrs. William Klimas of Scotch Plains have announced the engagement of their daughter, Miss Kristen Ann Klimas of Wilmington, Delaware, to E. Drake Harvey, 3rd of Newark, Delaware. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Harvey of Ashburn, Virginia.

The bride- elect is a 1992 graduate of Scotch Plains- Fanwood High School and a 1996 alumna of the University of Delaware in Newark, where she received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Early Childhood Development and Special Education.

A member of the Kappa Omicron Nu Honor Society and the Alpha Sigma Alpha sorority, Miss Klimas is employed as an Early Childhood Special Education teacher at the Delaware Curative Workshop in Wilmington.

The future bridegroom, who graduated from A. I. DuPont High School in Greenville, Delaware in 1992, received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration- Finance from the University of Delaware in 1996.

Miss Kristen A. Klimas To Wed E. Drake Harvey, 3rd

he is employed as Manager of Internet Technologies at The Data Place Inc. in Newark, Delaware.

A wedding is planned for August.

Paul Mehring and Miss Christine Niedzwiecki

Mr. and Mrs. Stanley J. Niedzwiecki of Westfield and Bay Head have announced the engagement of their daughter, Miss Christine Marie Niedzwiecki, to Paul Christopher Mehring of Manhattan and Sea Girt. He is the son of Richard Mehring of Milton, Delaware, formerly of Franklin Lakes, and the late Gertrude Mehring.

A graduate of Westfield High School, the bride- to- be was awarded her bachelor's degree from Bryant College in Smithfield, Rhode Island. She is employed as a sales consultant for Medline Industries.

The future bridegroom graduated from Don Bosco Preparatory High School in Ramsey and earned his bachelor's degree in finance from Villanova University in Philadelphia. He is employed as Vice President of Access Capital

Miss Christine Niedzwiecki To Marry Paul Mehring

Inc. of New York City. A wedding is planned for Saturday, October 31, at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Bay Head.

Daniel Patrick Welcomed By

Pasquarellis

Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Pasquarelli of Westfield have announced the birth of their son, Daniel Patrick Pasquarelli, on Friday, April 3, at Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center in Plainfield.

Daniel weighed 7 pounds and 9 ounces and measured 20 inches in length at birth.

The mother is the former Miss Monique Dowgin.

Daniel joins his brother, Vincent, 6, and his sister, Olivia, 4.

His maternal grandparents are Ralph Dowgin of Toms River and the late Kathleen Dowgin.

The paternal grandparents are Mrs. Maddalena Pasquarelli of Boonton and the late Vincenzo Pasquarelli.

Lindsay Garner Among Fine Art Exhibitors At Kutztown University

Lindsay Garner of Westfield participated in the Fine Arts Senior Exhibition at Kutztown University in Kutztown, Pennsylvania from May 9 through May 17. The exhibition was held in the Sharadin Art Gallery.

She is a 1993 graduate of Westfield High School. Lindsay also participates in the Art Club at the university.

The exhibition featured numerous works in a variety of mediums such as etchings, charcoal, pencil, oil paintings and many more.

The students showcased are graduating seniors in the Fine Arts Department of the College of Visual and Performing Arts.

David Osborn Enrolls At RIT in New York

David L. Osborn, the son of Claudia and Peter Osborn of Westfield, has enrolled for fall 1998 admission at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) in New York State.

David will major in mechanical engineering technology in RIT's College of Applied Science and Technology.

A transfer student from Alfred State College, Alfred, New York, he is the recipient of a Vernon Gleasman Society of Automotive Engineering Scholarship and both RIT's Phi Theta Kappa and Trustees Scholarships. He is a 1996 graduate of Westfield High School.
