Drama Students Rehearsing For Production of Cabaret 97Mar02

Students of the award-winning Westfield High School Drama and Music Departments are now in rehearsal for the spring musical Cabaret to be performed Thursday through Saturday, March 13 to 15, at 8 p.m. in the Westfield High School auditorium, located at 550 Dorian Road.

The cast of 40 student actors are under the direction of Joseph Nierle, Westfield High School drama teacher and the recipient of the Paper Mill Playhouse’s 1996 "Outstanding Director" award; Lorinda Santos Haver, named "Outstanding Choreographer," and James Beil, nominated for "Outstanding Musical Direction."

Veteran actors include Charlie Irwin, who plays the emcee; Jesse Blumberg, portraying Cliff Bradshaw; Robyn Lee is Sally Bowles, Anne Brummel plays Fraulein Schneider, Matt Greenlaw is Herr Schultz, Cecily Schaefer has the part of Fraulein Kost and Josh Silverstein is Ernst Ludwig.

The Kit Kat Girls, Megan Brenan, Allie Feldman, Nikki Hester, Corinne Liebrich, Kate Mortenson and Rebecca Wilhelms, are rehearsing some of the Bob Fosse dance numbers, while the familiar songs of Cabaret, "Money, Money, Money" and others ring through the auditorium. Stage Manager for the production is Coleen Donovan.

Tickets are now on sale and may be purchased from any of the cast members or by calling 789-4549 after 3 p.m.
