Kenneth Rotter Launches Campaign for Town Council

Kenneth Rotter of Greene Place in Westfield, has announced the beginning of his campaign for the Third Ward seat on the Westfield Town Council. Mr. Rotter is a Democratic candidate in this race.

Mr. Rotter is a corporate attorney with a Newark law firm. He is a member of the Raritan Valley Line Commuter Commission, created earlier this year by Mayor Thomas C. Jardim, working to bring mid-town Manhattan direct train service to Westfield's commuters. He also is an appointed Westfield representative to the state Master Plan Review Committee.

"Jogging through the community nearly every day for the past two years, I have become concerned about the poor condition of the streets on the South Side," said Mr. Rotter. "The potholes, the debris in the streets and the speeding cars on the Third Ward's streets have convinced me to run for a seat on the Town Council."

After graduating Georgetown Law School, Washington, D.C., in 1994, Mr. Rotter served as a Law Clerk for the United States House of Representatives’ Judiciary Committee, Subcommittee on Crime, and then for a New Jersey Superior Court Judge. Mr. Rotter received a bachelor's degree from Drew University, Madison, in 1991.

"My campaign will focus on the basics: safer, cleaner streets, better services for the South side and maintaining property taxes," Mr. Rotter said.

"Throughout the next two months, I will be reaching out to every resident in the Third Ward to let them know that I am eager to fight for them on Westfield's Town Council," he added.
