ELIZABETH TOWN WATER
COMPANY TO STOP WATER SERVICE TO LARGE BUSINESS USERS
Despite voluntary conservation efforts by customers, portions of several communities served by Elizabethtown are without water, and the pressure in the Company's mains has decreased to the point that fire protection is jeopardized. Eliminating the use by these large business and industrial users will help us to keep pressure in our mains, which is essential for us to have water to fight fires.
As a precautionary measure, we continue to advise our customers to boil their water for three minutes before drinking or cooking. Business users which provide essential public services, such as nursing homes, hospitals, and dormitories will not be affected. Elizabethtown Water Company serves 213,000 business and residential customers in 54 municipalities in Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, Morris, Somerset and Union counties.
