The 16th annual Turkey Trot presented by the Friends of Westfield Track and Field will be held on November 27 at Tamaques Park in Westfield. The program for the day, regardless of weather will feature the Tamaques Mile, the one-mile fun run and the five-mile race.
At 10:00 a.m. the Tamaques Mile begins and is restricted to Westfield students, grades 4-9 who must be pre-registered at their local schools. Call Mr. Jack Martin at 789-4560 for information.
The fun run begins at 10:30 a.m. sharp. Pre-registration is $7.00 and includes a
short sleeve T-shirt. Post entry is $10.00 and will include a T-shirt while supplies last.
The five-mile race, beginning at 11:00 a.m., is an USATF-NJ certified course, starting and finishing in Tamaques Park, a distance of 3.2 miles. Pre-registration is $12.00 and includes a long sleeved Tshirt. Post entry is $15.00. Pre-registration is encouraged through November 23.
Trophies in the five-mile race will be awarded to the overall male and male winners in all age groups. The first three Fun Run finishers receive medals and all participants will receive ribbons.
Registration will begin at 9:00 a.m. in the park. Entrances to Tamaques Park are from Lamberts Mill Road or Dickson Drive off Willow Grove Road. NO PARKING will be allowed on Dickson Drive. The park has limited parking so come early and prepared to run. Limited bathroom facilities are available. No in-line blades, skates or strollers are permitted in the events.
